My new Jet Mini Lathe
A good way to begin the year

Natural Edge Bowl
Karree (African Summac) (Rhus lancea)
approx 200mm diameter

Hollow Vessel
Karree (African summac) (Rhus lancea)
approx 150mm diameter

And what a way to continue the year.
A new Stubby 1000 from Omega in Australia.  It arrived 2 days after I departed for a climate change conference in Bonn, Germany.

Tantric Turning!

More pics of the new "Baby"
coming soon

Assegaai (Curtisia dentata) 125mm (h) x 105mm (w).   Images of a San/Bushman hunt.

 The large Antelopes are Eland.
The San believed that only the Eland knew of the presence of Cagn, the supreme being - wherever the Eland were gathered in great numbers, Cagn was sure to be nearby.
The Eland reigns in San mythology as the closest living creature to Cagn, and the only earthly link with their "god'.

Carved  vessel.
Karree (African Summac) (Rhus lancea)
130mm x 67mm

More pics of pieces I have turned on the Stubby will have to wait till my son Chris returns from his climbing expedition in the Drakensberg with our cheap digital camera.

My decent camera was stolen from our bedroom while I was in the workshop and Gigi and Chris were in the house.  In Africa never even leave your garden gate open for five minutes till you bring the car in from the street!!!
